When the time comes to potty train your toddler, you will most likely come across some challenges. Potty training boys can prove even harder But there are a few things you can do to help make potty training quicker and easier. Soon, you will find your boy no longer needs diapers.

Many people don’t realize that potty training boys is very different from potty training girls. Many also feel that is more difficult to train boys than girls. But with a few tips, there really isn’t much more to it than training girls.

Potty training begins with teaching your child to sit on the toilet. It is possible to skip ahead with boys and try to teach them to go while standing, but this may prove to be frustrating. Toddlers may become confused between the urge to urinate and have a bowel movement, so there may be more accidents. If you start with teaching them while sitting, you can move on to standing once they no longer have accidents.

Decide whether you are going to use a potty chair or a potty seat that sits on top of the regular toilet. With the potty seats, the child will probably need help onto the toilet or the use of a step stool. Another great idea is to get dad involved in the training.

With a male role model, you might find that your boy is learning quicker. In fact, it is believed that one of the reasons so many boys take longer to be potty trained is because they are taught by their mother. Dad will especially have an easier time when it comes to time for stand up urinating.

Many parents what their children potty trained as easily as possible. However, this may not be beneficial to a child. It may be a good idea to wait until a child can communicate his urge to use the bathroom before trying to train him. Also, all children develop at different rates, so just because one boy is potty trained does not mean there is a problem because yours is not.

Probably the best tip for any parent who is potty training boys is to have patience. Try not to rush your boy into something he may not be ready for. Also, don’t react negatively if your boy has an accident while training. Reassure your child and rewarding them for successful milestones can really help. A good reward is taking your son to pick out underwear for himself. This is a great reward for a job well done. – 35634
